In 2003 ABCO Systems was operating out of a warehouse that was about 3,000 square feet in Carlstadt, NJ. Our shop was destroyed once during Hurricane Irene, and then again during Hurricane Sandy. Moving was unavoidable. We left our beloved little shop for higher ground in Bloomfield, NJ. It was a scary time for us as we just about doubled our space.
After about 3 years in our current location, we needed more space so we rented the unit next door ultimately doubling again.
And now at the end of our current lease, I called our landlord to discuss options. We literally walked less than 5 minutes to what is to be our new home.
We just leased out 35k square feet of warehouse space in Bellville, NJ. The space comes with an acre and a half of secured outside, fenced in storage. We are local to the Meadowlands area and central to Edison and even Dayton so our shipping will always be fast and priced well.
On top of that, we are going to be setting up our entire facility to be an example of the different types of storage and logistics material handling solutions. We will have a showroom with the various products and solutions we provide. But more than that, our entire facility will act as a showroom, for our customers.
To store our own products, we will be setting up a standard aisle Pallet Rack area, a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) area, Push-Back Rack, Carton Flow Rack, Drive-In Rack, Cantilever Rack and even an area of Garment on Hanger (GOH). We will have different types of lift trucks and all sorts of safety barriers on display in our real world working environment.
Along with a typical showroom highlighting items such as our mezzanines, pick modules and lift gates, our entire facility will be a real time working showroom that highlights the various options our customers have. With just one visit to the new ABCO Systems facility, you will be able to determine the best solutions for your specific needs based on your environment.
We will also be stocking a lot more material to take care of our customers faster. From wire decks, to safety guard rails, to pallet rack protectors, we will have many of the most common Distribution Center items that are typically needed, and we will have them in stock.
In conclusion, I would like to offer endless thanks to our loyal customer base for helping us to grow and evolve into the organization we are today.
We expect the move to take place in June. More details about moving, and how we can be even more effective in servicing our customers is coming soon.
